The Project Air Strategy
Project Air is a Personality Disorders Strategy based at the University of Wollongong (Australia) and was founded in 2001. Project Air is a centre of excellence for research, education and treatment of personality disorders and related complex challenges including self-harm, suicide and comorbid mental health challenges. The Strategy fosters University-Health partnerships locally, nationally and internationally. Project Air aims to enhance treatment options for people with a personality disorder, their families and carers, and endorses an integrative, collaborative and relational approach that promotes the inclusion of people with personality disorders.
The Air Academy Online Community
The new Air Academy online community is a space connecting clinicians, schools, or people with lived experience of personality disorders. Together we aim to enrich best-practice treatments, engage in learning, and conduct priority research. The online community offers a domain within your area of expertise to provide learning opportunities, a platform to connect with others who share common goals, and a place to collaborate with your fellow community members.
The Air Academies
Air Academies are communities of practice to enhance the sustainability of services and programs and inspire people to maintain and develop their skills and enthusiasm to improve treatment for personality disorder. Project Air has developed and evaluated a range of interventions and resources for health services, schools and clinicians. We build capacity to help health services, schools and communities identify and respond more effectively to suicide risk, self-harm and complex mental health presentations. The Project Air Strategy for Personality Disorders was developed to support clinical leadership, offer service re-design and targeted training, enhance brief and longer-term treatments, and to provide resources.
